PondPros — Pond Professionals Alliance

Where a pond contractor should be listed

ChecklistEasy3 hours once

What this fixes: Not on manufacturer locators · Few directory listings · NAP inconsistent · Weak backlinks

Tick these off as you go. This page remembers where you got to, so you can come back to it another day.

Two things happen when your company is listed consistently in the right places. Buyers find you in the places they look, and search engines get repeated confirmation that your business details are what you say they are.

The rule before you start

Write down one exact version of your name, address, and phone. Use it everywhere, character for character. Inconsistency across listings is one of the most common problems found in audits, and it quietly undermines everything else.

Name: your company Phone: your phone number Website: your website

Manufacturer contractor locators, the highest value of the lot

These send real buyers and they come from sites search engines already trust. Only list where you genuinely qualify.

  • Aquascape contractor locator
  • Atlantic-Oase
  • EasyPro
  • Blue Thumb
  • Any distributor locator your supplier runs

If you hold a certification, make sure it is actually reflected on the listing.

Industry

  • PondPros directory
  • Pond Trade
  • Any regional pond or water garden society

General, in priority order

  • Google Business Profile
  • Bing Places
  • Apple Business Connect, which is what Apple Maps uses and almost nobody claims
  • Facebook page with correct details
  • Houzz, which matters more in higher end residential than most contractors expect
  • Better Business Bureau if you carry it
  • Yelp, claimed at minimum so it is not wrong
  • Angi and Thumbtack only if you actually want that lead type

Local, and this is where the real links are

  • Chamber of commerce in your main town
  • Any local business association
  • Suppliers who list their contractors
  • Trade or landscape associations you belong to
  • Charity or community projects you have donated work to. Ask for a link when you do the work, not a year later.

Once done

Keep a simple sheet of every place you are listed, the login, and the date you checked it. When your number or address changes, that sheet is the difference between an afternoon and a permanent mess.
