Give your content a name and a slot

The accounts that hold an audience in the trades almost always have a recurring named format. A name and a fixed slot turns "what do I post" into "it is Wednesday, so it is the Wednesday one".

It also trains people to look for it, which is the only reliable way to get repeat viewers without paying for them.

How to build one

Pick a format you can produce from work you are already doing. If it needs a special trip or a script, you will stop in week three.

Give it a plain name. Alliteration works because it is easy to remember.

Fix the day.

Use the same opening line and the same visual treatment every time.

Formats that work in this trade

The weekly question. One thing a homeowner asked you this week, answered in thirty seconds.

Buried and gone. The plumbing and liner work nobody ever sees, filmed before it gets covered. This is the one that quietly sells against cheap bids.

Before Big Rain, After Big Rain. Drainage, overflow, and what a properly built system does in weather.

Fish of the week. Simple, and in this trade it performs far better than it has any right to.

What went wrong. Something that did not go to plan and what you did about it. Honest posts outperform polished ones consistently, and this is the single most trusted format there is.

Rules

One series at a time until it is a habit. Two at most.

Keep it going for three months before judging it.

Never skip a slot to post something better. The slot is the point.
